You guys, this is literally my dream bathroom. I was lucky enough to have the ability to design every inch of our home. It was a very time consuming process. YEARS of planning and drafting. We did it, and we love what we have created. I am shocked that I have not yet written a formal bathroom reveal. Long over due here it is…with all the details, and a MAJOR lesson learned that you must read.Â
If you are just landing on my page for the first time, welcome. The backstory about me and our home #villaKomosa is that my husband built the entire thing himself. I created my blog to document along the way and we are currently decorating and finishing the bonus rooms and basement entertaining spaces. It is all very exciting. We had to take a break after we finished the main living area, we moved in and let our fried brains chill… It is alot of work building and designing a house. My Pinterest boards are full of inspiration. Check it out here Check out my pinterest HERE and please follow for updated project inspo! I am still pinning away ideas for our next projects.
Mirrors are from LOWES you can shop them HERE
The master bathroom was a huge priority because we wanted to frame the view that we have. I wanted to be able to comfortably see the view from the bath tub, so we built a platform and set the tub inside raising it up to the window level. Kevin is very talented, so blessed he did this for me. We ordered the largest tub we could find, I wanted a simple comfortable soaking tub for 2. WE LOVE IT, and so do my kiddos. lol.
Another priority of ours was a large shower and double sinks. Have you ever shared a bathroom with a man? UGH… Our shower in our old home was the tiniest stall ever. So we made up for years of squished showers (literally you could not even bend over in our old master bathroom shower). We worked with our local Degrees of Comfort, shout out to TIA she is amazing! I am sure I was very annoying with my constant questions and changes. She helped up design the double shower with 3 body jets for each person. We installed a linear drain so its very inconspicuous. (I actually spelled that correctly first shot, holy sh*t)
During our process of designing I was heart set on having an all marble bathroom. I wanted slab marble no grout… well once we got the pricing on that, I quickly changed my mind and decided to be a bit more practical. We opted for marble tile, and made the tile purchase from LOWES. We saved alot of money making purchases from LOWES during our project. I highly recommend comparison shopping. *HINT* brands sell their designs to LOWES and they rename it, so bring your samples. We found the exact counter top from a high end brand, at LOWES and saved THOUSANDS by ordering it from them. It is the same darn thing! So glad I was able to do this, and because of this savings I was able to put the beautiful quartz counters in every bathroom. (I havent mentioned yet that we have 5 bathrooms, soon to be 6)
Our tub was a special order, I did not want jets, I couldnt find the exact one anywhere but found a similar size tub on HOUZZ
If you have any questions about anything please let me know. Build.com is another source when price comparing. Our local supplier was able to match the prices on build.com, its definitely worth asking. We strive to support local businesses when possible, since we are a small business ourselves.
Ill be enjoying this clean bath while it lasts! Have a great day and talk to you soon, here or over on my instagram stories! @MeganMarieKomosa
