I have been focused on fitness and health for years. As someone with Celiac, nutrition is a genuine concern of mine. When I eat, I imagine eating for fuel, hoping I am consuming the proper nutrients that my body needs… But I never really know where I fall short so I supplement with vitamins. “To cover all my bases.” Sound familiar?
Hoping that I am not wasting too much of my money. (Remember your body wastes what it doesn’t need.) The recommended amount of vitamins and minerals differs depending on so many variables that are unique to each individual. This is one reason why a regular “womens” multivitamin is still not targeted enough to fill in nutritional gaps. Nutritional gaps are common, especially in those of us with dietary restrictions. Mixfit is taking a scientific approach to closing that nutritional gap and I am so excited to be apart of the journey. They just launched the #EatWhatYouNeed Challenge.
Curious about where I would land on the chart, I took part in the Challenge and experienced a genuine awareness of which foods I was choosing to eat, and why. My morning gluten-free bagel with butter and cream cheese didn’t seem like such a good choice after I saw the Mixfit nutritional summary. The company uses amazing technology that enables its app users to photograph their food, input ingredients and through their enormous database, the nutritional information is graphed. The Mixfit app did ask me a few questions about myself in order to properly assess my body’s needs. This is important and what makes Mixfit such a revolutionary breakthrough. Their personalized, scientific approach of studying our body – and what we fuel our body with – will give us the ability to help close nutritional gaps! Once Mixfit’s algorithm or MINA (Mixfit Intelligent Nutrition Assistant) learns your unique nutrient needs, it serves up a tasty supplemental drink created specifically for you!
Right now, Mixfit is challenging everyone to use their app as a tool to learn where they are falling short with their nutrition and what gaps they should focus on closing. It really is so interesting. Download their app for APPLE or ANDROID and start logging your meals today. Check it out for yourself, you will be surprised where you fall short!
After logging my food for 7 days, I spoke with a nutritionist from Mixfit. She helped me understand why and how I was so deficient in some key areas, such as vitamin D, Iron, Magnesium, and more. It was shocking for me to see the results on paper and very helpful to learn how I can improve by adjusting what I am consuming. I am now more aware of where I need to improve and try to remember those areas when I am grabbing a snack. I started opting for spinach over lettuce, blueberries instead of chips, and tried some other weird things like avocado toast. LOL. It’s actually not that bad with a little everything bagel seasoning on it. (I dislike avocado!) Anyways, if you are interested in learning about where you fall short, download the app through APPLE or ANDROIDand begin logging your food for 7 days and sharing your experience on Instagram, tagging @gomixfit and mentioning #EatWhatYouNeedYou could win one of three prizes: $2500 CASH, a Mixfit starter pack + 3 months supply ($600 value) or a Mixfit starter pack + 1 month supply ($450 value). Check out the details here. I took part in the Challenge and I hope you will too. It’s so exciting to me to learn about how food fuels our bodies, and how we can improve our overall health and wellness by improving our diet. Food is fuel! That’s what I always say. Follow along over on Instagram while I try to close my nutritional gap!
